JU Center for daycare for children with disabilities and adults with disabilities, Herceg Novi, is participating in the International Video Festival 2026 in Slovenia.

For this occasion, they prepared a mythological story about the origin of Mount Orjen, through the relationship between the god of the Adriatic and the son of Orion, giving it the name Iris Orjenii or Orjen’s iris, after a plant that lives only on Orjen and nowhere else on the planet. Through a three-minute film, written and directed by Danilo Babović, they tried to show the harmony between the divine and nature, warning against modern man who disturbs that balance.

The audience award will be given to the film with the most votes, and the expert jury will choose the three best ones, as well as those who deserved special awards. We invite Herceg Novi residents to vote for “Iris Orjenii” under number 3 at https://sfactor.splet.arnes.si/.
The International Video Festival is a project that promotes the inclusion of young people with developmental disabilities through performing arts and filmmaking, and is organized by the Slovenian primary school “Milke Šobar Nataše”. The festival gathered 17 participants this year.
