On Thursday, December 11, starting at 8 p.m., the play “Night of the Gods” will be performed on the stage of the Park Hall.

One evening on the tenth anniversary of their friendship, King Louis XIV (Ćetković), the court madman (Lutkić) and the writer Moliere (Ilić) get drunk together, evoking memories of times gone by. In the midst of the revelry, the king reveals that he has found out that the two are playing a farce about him to make fun of him, so he forces his friends to play the farce just for him.

As in most pieces written since the second half of the 20th century, there is no clear genre definition. If one had to invent a genre coin for this play, it sounds like it: a tragicomedy with elements of farce within the framework of political theater. Or as it is usually described, in a rather loose term – ‘the play of life'”, say the actors.
