This year’s Wind Festival brings a strong adrenaline segment through the Urban Downhill race in Herceg Novi, which will be held on Sunday, May 24, as the final sports event of the festival.

After previous editions on the slopes of Vrmac, the WindFest Downhill Race is moving this year to the urban environment of Herceg Novi, where the distinctive stone steps will become a dynamic race track. The start is planned at the fortress of Španjola, and the route leads all the way to the Škver city port, passing through the Old Town and the main square near the Clock Tower. The length of the track is about 1.3 kilometers, and the rides last approximately three minutes.

The race is run in a downhill format, with two to three test runs, followed by qualifications and the final race planned in the afternoon. The track is technically accessible, which opens up space for a larger number of local competitors, but also for the arrival of drivers from the region — participants from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and beyond are expected.

The special quality of the event is given by the support of partners and sports organizations – Cycling Club Durmitor as a co-organizer, Cycling Association of Montenegro, as well as Triathlon Club Herceg Novi, which will be in charge of timing. The support of the Red Bull brand has also been confirmed.

The program starts already on Friday, May 22, at 6 p.m., with a mini-event on the pumptrack track in Igalo, while Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m., is reserved for a revue event in Borići na Dizarica — a ride through forest trails developed by the local community, with the aim of promoting and supporting the further development of off-road bike trails in Boka Kotorska.

The Sunday race, on May 24, represents a combination of sport, speed and a unique atmosphere, turning Herceg Novi into the stage of the ultimate adrenaline spectacle. After the competition, the program continues with music and socializing, and ends with an after party at Cafe Radio.

The organization of the event is supported by the Municipality of Herceg Novi, the Sports Center and the Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi, which further confirms this event’s importance on the map of regional sports and festival events.

The event starts with the gathering at Škver at 9 a.m., the first transport of the competitors is scheduled for 10 a.m.
