THE PLAY “JELENA ANŽUJSKA”

The play “Jelena Anžujska” will be performed on the stage of the Park Hall on Monday, August 31, at 9 p.m.
The performance “Jelena Anžujska” sheds light on the life of the famous medieval queen from the Nemanjić family, the ruler of the Zeta region, the wife of King Uroš and the mother of Kings Dragutin and Milutin. Jelena of Anjou was a great educator and humanist, who, balancing between the Catholic littoral and the Orthodox Raska, was loved by both the Pope and the Patriarch of Constantinople. Appreciated and loved by the people, educated and prudent, she greatly influenced the political events of her time.
The play is based on the text of Jelena Kajgo, directed by Tatjana Mandić Rigonat, and produced by the Knjaževsko-Serbian Theater from Kragujevac and the Ćirilic festival from Budva. At the head of the great cast is Marija Bergam in the role of Jelena Anžujska.
