The international klapa festival Herceg Novi, jubilee, 10th in a row, will be held on Saturday, September 12, starting at 8 p.m., in the Park Hall. Originally, the planned location was on Mića Pavlović Square in the Old Town, but the organizers from Klapa “Castel Nuovo” decided on a more suitable place due to possible rain and wind.

Participation was confirmed by 7 clubs: Maris – Kotor, FD Kumpanija – Vela Luka, Jadran – Tivat, Geta – Orebić, Camerton – Podgorica, Nava – Orebić and Bellezza – Tivat.

The Zagreb klapa Kampanel will hold a concert at the end of the festival evening, and this is their first guest appearance in Herecg Novi, Igor Jovanović told Novski Portal, on behalf of the Organizing Committee.

“We planned ten klapas for the tenth anniversary of the festival, but then it would all take too long. Because everyone will perform two numbers each and then a concert that will last from an hour to an hour and a half. We tried to get those who hadn’t been before to come. We didn’t want to dilute the festival and the focus is on the concert of the excellent klapa from Zagreb. There are also klapas that couldn’t join us due to private commitments and performances.”

The tenth edition will be an opportunity for the audience to enjoy the traditional klapa sound, but also to meet new performers through the festival program.

The patrons of the festival are the Municipality of Herceg Novi, the Ministry of Culture, Herceg Fest, and the support was provided by the Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi, as well as other sponsors.
