The promotion of the novel “Epitaph for an actor” by the author Ljubica Kubura will be organized in the garden of the House of the Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić, on Monday, June 22, at 8:30 p.m.

The novel “Epitaph for an Actor” delves into the indomitable spirit of a man who refuses to be silenced, replaced and forgotten, even when faced with insurmountable obstacles. After the curtain comes down on the actor’s life, his daughter, who sees him as a role model, starts writing a novel about her father, trying to save his legacy from being forgotten.

Author Ljubica Kubura, literary critic Dr. Radoje Femić and writer Miljan Mijušković will speak about the novel, while the moderator of the evening will be Milica Bakrač.

Through the conversation about the work, the audience will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the themes, characters and messages that the novel carries, but also with the specific authorial sensibility of Ljubica Kubura.

Ljubica Kubura was born in 1988 in Belgrade, where she lives and works today. He is the author of the collection of short stories “Belgrade Watercolour” and the novel “Epitaph for an Actor” (2023), as well as numerous award-winning short stories published in regional and domestic competitions. He is the screenwriter of the play “The Man in the Red Suit”, premiered in 2012 at the Slavija Theater.

Her writing is characterized by strong introspection, irony and a special attitude towards literature and life, and the author herself often points out her closeness to the literary worlds of Chekhov and Dostoyevsky.
