“The text of the play “Epiphany”, which I defined stylistically and genre-wise as a satirical fairy tale, was inspired and based, for the most part, on the lines of the poem of the same name by Matija Bećković, then also on his poems “Knife” and “This and that” and the essay “About fools”. This potent literary material, which we can consider the pinnacle of Bećković’s creativity, according to the idea of producer Boris Mišković, I supplemented with dramatic scenes, images in a dialogic form, which build on, develop and articulate the motifs and ideas of the original work.
This is how a dramatic work was created that belongs equally to Matija Bećković himself, and to me as an independent author, and which, using a hypothetical circumstance – “if God would appear in Montenegro” warns in a witty and at the same time poignant way about the source, development and disastrous consequences of inter-fraternal hatred and insists sharply and painfully on the departure from fratricidal war, no matter how “fools” (and we all can often be) it sometimes seems like the best or only solution to our many problems. The text of the play in writing is guided by the idea that they all have only one remedy – personal transformation.”
