The exhibition titled Phenomenon-Love “Through the crack of the Real” by the artist Ivan Đurišić will be officially opened on Thursday, June 4, at 7 p.m. in the “Josip Bepo Benković” Gallery, in the Old Town of Herceg Novi.

Forty paintings and drawings created in the previous period will be presented at the exhibition. This exhibition represents the first segment of a wider regional project that will be presented in Skopje (Northern Macedonia), Novi Sad (Serbia) and Košice (Slovakia) during the year.

“Đurišić’s painting develops on the border between the metaphysical and the surreal, without direct reliance on historical models of those directions. His paintings function as phantasmagorical spaces in which the organic, psychological and landscape are constantly transformed. There is no classical narrative or stable motif in them; the painting is created through the process of dismantling and re-establishing form, between control and chance, matter and feeling,” say the Herzegovinian Museum and Gallery.

The Phenomenon-Love project was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and the Secretariat for Culture of the Capital City.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until mid-July.
