The commemoration of the Day of Liberation in the Second World War, which is celebrated as the Day of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, will be held tomorrow, October 28, with a series of festive events in which the city proudly celebrates its freedom, history, development and creativity.
The program will begin with the laying of wreaths on memorials to fallen fighters and patriots, from 9:30 a.m., first at the Tora, then at the Savina monastery and in the Bezmetković memorial complex.
At 10:45 a.m., the ceremonial parade of Herceg Novi City Music and majorettes will begin, from Tora to “Boke” park. The traditional parade, which every year brings a festive atmosphere to the city streets, is a prelude to the central part of the municipal holiday celebration program.
The formal session of the Herceg Novi Municipal Assembly will be held at 11:30 a.m., in the Park Hall, in the presence of numerous dignitaries. The session will discuss the life of the city and the most important activities between the two holidays, as well as the awarding of the most important municipal awards, the October Award and the Charter. In the artistic part of the program, the chamber orchestra Camerata Herceg Novi, led by Ivan Velikanov, and the City Mixed Choir of Herceg Novi, led by Ognjen Bomoštar, will perform for the first time.
In the evening, the chamber orchestra Camerata Herceg Novi will be presented to the audience for the first time with a concert in the Park hall, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Camerata Herceg Novi orchestra consists of twenty permanent performers, and at the first concert they will perform in an expanded composition, with ten guest musicians from Serbia, Croatia, Russia and Montenegro. The soloists of the evening will be maestro Boris Kraljević (Montenegro/Singapore), as well as Ivana Petković (flute), Anastasija Batrakova (bassoon) and Nives Nenadović (piano). The program includes works by Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Entrance to the concert is free.
