THE PLAY “EPIPHANY” IN DVORANA PARK ON JUNE 17TH

June 17- 9:00 pm

The play “Epiphany,” based on the text by Matija Bećković and directed and adapted by Ana Đorđević, will be performed at Dvorana Park on June 17 at 9:00 p.m.
This is an ambitious artistic undertaking and the first theatrical adaptation of Bećković’s works. The creative team chose the poems “Epiphany,” “Knife,” “This and That,” and the essay “About Fools” — pieces that, both in their original and in dramatic form, convey an anti-war message, point to the tragedy of divisions in our region, explore the complexity of interpersonal relationships, and examine the individual’s relationship with God.
“I wake up at the time of Epiphany, a coward; from sorrow my head swims, and I think: what if, God forbid, God appears,” a line from the poem of the same name, runs as a leitmotif throughout the play. In that sense, it appears as a source from which dramatic currents and the characters’ personal dilemmas emerge, convincingly portrayed by actors Nebojša Milovanović, Milovan Filipović, and Svetozar Cvetković.
Personal transformation in this theatrical piece is presented in a deep and convincing way as a path to overcoming the heavy burden of the past, with all the individual and collective trials such striving entails. This is a topical message and a possible path not only for the Balkans but for a wider, global context.
The cast includes: Svetozar Cvetković, Nebojša Milovanović, and Milovan Filipović. The production is a co-production of Beo Art Belgrade, Nikšić Theatre, and the National Library Budva.
Tickets, priced at €15, are available at the Dvorana Park box office and online at www.hercegfestulaznice.me.
