THE INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL HERCEG NOVI 2025

The International Choir Festival Herceg Novi 2025 will be held from October 2 to 5, organized by the NGO “Montenegro Choir Association”. For this jubilee edition, 29 choral ensembles from European countries and surroundings: Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro applied, which will be presented in the competition and revue part, which makes the figure around 900 participants. The members of the jury are eminent conductors who come to us from Italy, Belgium, Serbia and Croatia.

The festival will begin with a workshop for conductors and interested choristers, which will be held on Thursday, October 2, in the foyer of the “Park” Hall, starting at 6:00 p.m.

“The workshop will be led by a member of the board of directors of the European Choral Association, Enriko Miaroma (ITA). After that, at 7:30 p.m., the film “Everything Will Be – Maestro Radovan Papović” will be shown, from Novlja, a Montenegrin conductor, who left an indelible mark on the musical life of Montenegro and the region. This year, in honor of Professor Papović and the great conductor, Darinka Matić Marović, from Novlja, the festival is also introducing two new cash prizes,” says Festival director Nađa Karadžić.

The competitive part of the festival is scheduled for Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4, in the church of St. Jeronima from 11:00 am. The official opening of the festival is planned on Friday, October 3, at Kanli Tower from 19:00. In case of bad weather, in the “Park” Hall.

“On Saturday, October 4, in addition to the competition, which starts at 11:00 a.m., there will also be a show part of the festival on the square (under the Tora) from 10:30 a.m., where the registered choirs will present an extraordinary program for all lovers of choral music. Announcement of the results of the competition, awarding of diplomas, certificates of thanks, “Laureate” – cash prize of 500.00 euros for the best choir, award for the most promising conductor and the best spiritual performance compositions of 250.00 euros each, as well as the socializing of all participants with appropriate music and a cocktail, will be held on Saturday from 8:00 p.m., in the Amphitheater of the “Park” Hall. If the weather conditions are unfavorable, the final evening will be held in the “Park” Hall, says Festival director Nađa Karadžić.

On Sunday, October 6, starting at 11:00 a.m., a traditional revue concert of spiritual music will be held in the church of St. Jerome, which will end this year’s jubilee tenth edition of the festival.

The patron of the festival is the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Ministry of Culture and Media, strategic partner JUK Herceg Fest, Sun Resort hotel, Trend travel, RTHN, St. Jerome’s church and others.
