From July 21 to 28, the 23rd “Book Square” will be held in Herceg Novi. During eight fair evenings, book lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy a high-quality and varied program at the Herceg Stjepan Square (Belavista), and we believe that lovers of the written word will find a book for themselves this time at the Fair.
The traditional award ceremony will not be absent this time either, so the following will be awarded: The Most Beautiful Book, The Best Edition, Publishing Enterprise of the Year and The Most Beautiful Children’s Book, and around thirty publishers from the country and the region will participate in the sales and exhibition part of the Fair. New editions will be presented, and authors and publishers from Boka Kotorska, as in previous years, will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their editions at the stand of the Bokel publishing house.
Organizers of the “Book Square” are the Secretariat for Culture and Education of the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Municipal Library and Reading Room of Herceg Novi. The patrons are the Municipality of Herceg Novi and the Tourist Organization of Herceg Novi, while the motto of this year’s Fair is “A writer who wants to save his soul must confront his era” – George Orwell.
Sponsors of the Fair are: Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, Institute Dr. Simo Milošević Igalo, RTV Herceg Novi and daily newspaper Dan Podgorica.
The working hours of the Fair are from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.. Admission to all programs is free, as well as to the sales part of the Fair.
