The promotion of the poetry collection “The Smell of an Angel” by writer, journalist and social analyst Živojin Rakočević will be held on Saturday, July 11, starting at 8:30 PM at the House of Nobel Laureate Ivo Andrić.

“The Scent of an Angel” is one of the most notable poetry books of recent times, recognized by the literary public as a powerful testimony to suffering, memory, homeland and spiritual survival. Academician Matija Bećković assessed that it is a “modern continuation of the Kosovo cycle”, while literary critic Dr. Mileta Aćimović described Ivkov Rakočević as a “thoughtfully refined lyricist of metaphysical orientation”. Critics point out that the collection speaks about disappeared worlds, exile, historical memory and the lasting values of folk and spiritual culture through personal and collective experience.

Živojin Rakočević (1973) is the author of several poetry collections, books of interviews and monographs. He has received numerous literary and journalistic awards, including the Branko Award, the Vuk Award, the Simo Matavulj Award, the Herceg Šćepan Seal, the Orpheus of Zaplanj and the Branko Ćopić Award. Director of the Gračanica Cultural Center and president of the Serbian Journalists’ Association.

In addition to the author, the book will be discussed by journalist and publicist Vitka Vujnović.
