The promotion of Bishop Grigorije’s book, “Stranger in the forest” will be held on Tuesday, August 5, at 9 p.m., in the beautiful setting of the House of Nobel Laureate Ivo Andrić.
Bishop Grigorije strongly emphasizes that “there is nothing more powerful than a living word, nothing more beautiful than a conversation and a story.” Books teach us about life – how to look wider, empathize and overcome our own narrow-mindedness. By opening space for dialogue and honest conversation, we enable connection with others, the ability for joy and sorrow, successes and failures, he points out that without a story – we can “die of sadness”.
This thought is the very core of the book “Stranger in the forest”, where, through the narration and dialogue with the hermit priest, Bishop Grigorije shows how words and encounters with others open the vastness of spirituality, self-knowledge and emotional connection.
The book ‘Stranger in the forest’ is a follow-up to Andrić‘s speech “On story and telling” – story connects us, ennobles us, makes us human, but “if it does not serve man and humanity, it serves nothing.” I. Andrić
The living word is not only a means of conveying thoughts – it is a way to truly be broader, more compassionate and alive.
In addition to the author, Siniša Kovačević, playwright, screenwriter and professor of dramaturgy, and Ante Tomić, writer and journalist, will speak at the promotion, and the conversation will be led by Danijela Jelić.
See you at the House of Nobel laureate Ivo Andrić, a place of meetings, thoughts, conversations and stories that ennoble!
