Novska skalinada 2026, a unique street race, will be held at the very start of the 57th Mimosa Festival, as part of the sports and tourism program, for children on February 14, and for adults on February 15.

This year, in its eleventh edition, the Skalinada will be held on the route from Škver to the top of Španjola. The track is 1280 m long, and the height difference is 178 meters. The path includes 646 steps that lead from the Škver City Port, through the Old Town, past the Forte Mare fortress, the Clock Tower, the Kanli Tower to the top of Španjola.

Novska Skalinada is run according to the system of individual timed start every 15 seconds. Competitors start according to the starting numbers, at the signal of the referee, and pass a clearly defined route with four control points. The time is measured electronically — from the moment of the start until passing through the finish gate.

A tour of the trail with a guide will be organized (meeting at the Škver port on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.).

The starting number must be visibly displayed on the front. It is strictly forbidden to disturb other participants during the run — disobeying the rules will result in disqualification.

On Saturday, January 14, it is planned to pick up start packages for the weekly Novska Skalinada from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., pick up start packages for Mala Skalinada.

At 15:00 on Saturday at Škver, the Little Skalinade (by age groups) starts.

On Sunday, February 15, from 08:30 to 10:00 a.m., there is the collection of start packages, at 9:30 a.m. is the opening ceremony, and the start of Novska skalinade at 10:30 a.m. Already at 12:30 the winner will be announced.

All competitors who finish the race receive a finisher’s medal, the best in all categories will be awarded with medals for the first three places, and especially the absolute winners with cups and medals, and with 100, 200 and 300 euros.
