On Friday, July 18, starting at 9:30 p.m., on the stage of the Park Hall, a masterful performance of the duo drama “Memories of Sara Berar” will be staged.
The duo drama “Memories of Sarah Bernhardt” by John Marel, adapted and directed by Staša Koprivica and performed by the Herceg Novi Theater and Herceg Fest (Montenegro) combines elements of comedy, an essay about theater and theater in a theater. The play deals with the (un)reliable memories of the famous French actress Sarah Bernhardt (Tanja Bošković), recorded by her secretary Žorž Pitu (Dejan Đonović) in her declining years. Georges Pitt is Sarah Bernhardt’s acting partner who (un)willingly plays mostly female characters with her: Sarah’s sister, mother and, fortunately for him, some men.
Tanja Bošković as Sarah Bernhardt plays one of the best roles of her career portraying a capricious, selfish, manipulative and even seductive old woman from situation to situation.
On the other hand, the secretary George Pitou (Dejan Đonović) is outstanding not only as a support from the second plan, but also as a partner who occasionally (when he gets carried away) he plays with Sarah Bernhardt (Tanja Bošković).”
