The program begins on January 22nd with free cinema screenings in Herceg Novi, Belgrade, Sarajevo, Zagreb, Ljubljana and Skopje, while all films will be available online from January 23rd through the ondemand.kinomeetingpoint.ba platform.
As part of the program, the film “My Late Summer” directed by Oscar winner Danis Tanović will be screened in Herceg Novi on Thursday, January 22 at 7 p.m., in the PARK Hall. The film brings a comic drama about a young woman who comes to the island for an inheritance, but is faced with her own past, family secrets and questions of identity.
Among the films in the program is “Family Therapy” directed by Sonja Prosenc. This psychological drama follows a seemingly perfect family whose semblance of stability is shattered by the arrival of a young stranger. His presence exposes suppressed fears, hidden weaknesses and deep-rooted disturbances in family relationships. “Fiume o Morte!” Igor Bezinović – a docudrama about the sixteen-month occupation of Rijeka and the controversial historical figure of the Italian poet, journalist, aristocrat and military officer, fascist Gabriel D’Annunci, told through the voices of contemporary residents of the city, who question the legacy of that period and its influence on the present-day identity of Rijeka.
“Mother Mara” directed by Mirjana Karanović is an intimate drama about loss, grief and unexpected closeness between a mother and a friend of her deceased son.
The film “Alive and Healthy” by Ivan Marinović, a story about a wedding that takes place despite the bride’s decision to give up the marriage, will add a bitter-witty note to the program.
“Planet 7693” by Gojko Bekuljan brings a family and warm story, a film about a boy who, with the help of an unusual friend, tries to repair the broken relationships in his family.
The winter edition is realized as a joint project of the leading film festivals in the region – Herceg Novi Film Festival, Belgrade Original Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, Ljubljana International Film Festival, Zagreb Film Festival and the Manaki Brothers festival from North Macedonia.
This is the fourth Winter edition of the Festival Network of the Adriatic Region, organized with the aim of greater visibility, accessibility and promotion of quality contemporary regional cinematography.
The program of the Network of Festivals of the Adriatic Region is implemented with the support of the MEDIA Subprogram of the Creative Europe Program.
