FRANCOPHONE FILM DAYS IN MONTENEGRO 2026
March 27- 5:00 pm

There are film stories that take us not only through the plot, but through entire worlds — through culture, language and the feeling of a space. It is precisely such stories that are brought by the Francophone Film Days, which are coming to the audience in Montenegro this year as well.
The program is realized by the Film Center of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Embassy of France in Montenegro, the French Institute, the Network of Cinematographers of Montenegro, the Montenegrin Cinematheque and JUK Herceg Fest in Herceg Novi, bringing during March a selection of films that testify to the richness and diversity of contemporary French cinematography.
This year, too, the program includes films of different poetics and generations of authors — from contemporary festival productions to European film classics, as well as special screenings intended for the youngest audiences and adults.
– March 27 at 5 p.m., Dvorana Park
Calamity (Calamity, une enfance de Martha Jane Cannary)
In 1863, a caravan on its way to the West runs into trouble when Martha Jane’s father is injured. Martha, now an orphan and responsible for her family, must drive the team and learn to care for the horses while dressing and acting like a boy. This causes scandal, but it also allows her to discover the wild world and assert her freedom and courage—traits that would shape the legend of Calamity Jane.
