CEREMONY CLOSE OF THE 57TH MIMOZA FESTIVAL: TRIAL OF THE CARNIVAL AND ACA PEJOVIĆ’S CONCERT IN HERCEG NOVI

The best festival in the region, Herceg Novi 57th Mimosa Festival, will be rounded off with the Carnival Trial and Aco Pejović’s concert on Saturday, February 28.
The ceremonial procession of City Music and majorettes of Herceg Novi, Local Music Đenović, trombonists and masquerades will leave at 7:00 p.m. from Nikola Đurković Square, Njegoševa Street to Igalo, where the judging will begin at 7:45 p.m. Aco Pejović’s concert will start at 9:30 p.m., and Dejan Drašković from Herceg Novi will warm up the atmosphere beforehand.
The promotion of the book Iz bokeška pjatance, authored by Maso Čekić, will be held tonight (February 25) at 7 pm, in the foyer of the Park hall. Along with the author, Nikola Malović, Marija Starčević and Milina Kovačević will talk about the book dedicated to the love of authentic Bokeja dishes, and family values that are preserved through the generations.
Visitors to the 57th Mimosa Festival on Thursday (February 26) will be treated to a triple program. For the younger theater audience (12+), the actors of the Podgorica City Theater will play Dulcinea and Cervantes, based on the text by Dragana Tripković, directed by Snežana Trišić. It starts at 19:00, in the Park hall, and the entrance is free.
First time at the Mimosa Festival – a fashion spectacle by designer Ana Kovačević, Queen of the Wild. The collection of models is inspired by the colors and energy of Africa, and visitors can expect an unusual ambiance, scenography and new models created in the Anex studio of the famous Novljanka. It starts tomorrow (February 26) at 19:00 in the House of Culture in Bijela, and the entrance is free.
Slaven Đukanović, one of the most recognizable voices of the domestic music scene, will hold a concert the same evening in Boka Park, from 8 p.m.
The funniest and most beautiful flowers of Herzegovinian kindergartens, primary schools, cultural and artistic societies and clubs will parade through Njegoševa Street in the Flower Parade on Friday, February 27. The parade will start at 2 p.m. from the Square near the Municipality of Herceg Novi to Nikola Đurković Square, where each group will present themselves with a choreography.
On the same day, in the House of Culture in Bijela, there will be an Evening of Folklore starting at 7 p.m.
As part of the Friends away program, the Mimosa Festival will traditionally feature Belgrade Days (Friday, February 27). The Toma Zdravković Evening will be organized in the City Tavern, with the presentation of the authentic specialties of the Tradicija restaurant. The character of Toma Zdravković will be revived by the favorite Skadarlija singer Saša Lazarević Kudra. It starts at 20:00.
High school students and professors from Herceg Novi are preparing School Feasts on Saturday, February 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Njegoševa street. They will try to make the longest gnocchi in Boka, serve cocktails, organize a DJ party, and use the opportunity to present each educational profile in a special way.
Just an hour later, at 11:00 a.m., the Meeting of Boka City Musicians will begin, as an announcement of the celebration of 140 years of Herceg Novi City Music. All together, after the promenade, they will perform in Boka Park.
The return of the Great Boka Festival to the Mimosa Festival brings a rich program in Bijela, on the plateau in front of the House of Culture, on Saturday from 10 a.m. The program will begin with a stage presentation of the arrival of Captain Petar Želalić, and will continue with a rich cultural and entertainment program with traditional service. In the evening, the youngest will enjoy the Children’s Masquerade Ball, which starts at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, March 1, a walk to Bjelske Kruševice will be organized with the picking of medicinal herbs, starting at 10 a.m.
The attractive and increasingly massive Karić Race – Karotrc will be held on Sunday from 12 noon, from the City Tavern and the Belgrade Buffet to Škver.
