Organized by the Museum and Gallery of Herceg Novi, the City Library and Reading Room, JPU “Naša radost”, JUK “Herceg Fest” and the Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality of Topaljsko-Hercegnovska, today is International Family Day in Herceg Novi.

On this occasion, today there is a free tour of the cultural and historical buildings in the city, and at 5 P.M. the event “Family Days” will be organized in the hall of the Igalo Sports Center, with a suitable cultural and artistic program.

– On the occasion of International Family Day, a gathering and a poetry workshop will be organized with actor and children’s poet Dejan Đonović, young people from JPU “Naša radost”, students from “Ivan Goran Kovačić” Junior High School and KUD “Sloga” from Đenović will also perform. Prizes will be awarded to the best in the competition for the most beautiful family photo, and alongside the program, a painting workshop will be organized for all children, as well as an exhibition of works by children from the “Naša radost” kindergarten.

On the occasion of the International Family Day, today is a free family tour of all facilities managed by Herceg Fest, the Mirko Komnenović City Museum, the Josip Bepo Benković Gallery and the Captain Štumberger Museum, and from today until May 17, families can obtain a free annual membership fee in the City Library and Reading Room, according to the organizers.

International Family Day is celebrated worldwide on May 15. This holiday was declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1993 with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of the family, as well as of the social, economic and demographic processes that affect it.
