The Secretariat for Culture and Education of the Municipality of Herceg Novi in cooperation with the International Cultural Association IKA organizes a literary competition evening for young talents aged 10 to 18 from Herceg Novi.

The fifth season of this competition will be held on May 4, 2026 in the foyer of the Park Hall, starting at 7 p.m.

“Year after year, there is a great interest of children in this competition, which allows them to present their original poems and short stories, to present themselves publicly, gain self-confidence and love for the written story,” say the organizers.

The best will be decided by a three-member jury made up of established writers and educators. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: the first three places for author’s poetry for ages 10-13 and 14-18 years, the first three places for the best short stories for ages 10-13 and 14-18 years, and the best interpreter (reciter) of author’s poetry will also be awarded.

The first-prized students will be the representatives of Herceg Novi at the final evenings, where the most talented young literary creators in Montenegro in 2026 will be announced.
