On March 11, the 27th edition of the Guitar Art Festival will be opened in Belgrade, a manifestation that has been building bridges between artists, cities and cultures for decades. This year, that bridge strongly connects Belgrade and Herceg Novi, where, in the second half of the year, the jubilee, twentieth edition of the Guitar Art Summer Fest will be held.
The official opening of the Belgrade festival will be marked by the premiere and spectacular concert for guitars and orchestra, symbolically called “Herceg Novi – Belgrade, Belgrade – Herceg Novi”, which will be held on March 11 in the great hall of the Madlenianum at 8 pm.
The Levante Duo, consisting of Vojislav Ivanović and Aleksandra Ivanović, then the guitar duo Srđan Bulatović and Darko Nikčević, as well as the Archi di Belgrado ensemble, will perform. The audience will have the opportunity to hear new works by Aleksandar Simić and Slobodanka Bobana Dabović Đurić for the premiere. Nina Rakić will conduct.
The participants, guests and audience will be greeted by the founder and director of both festivals, Boško Radojković and the president of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, Stevan Katić. The story of friendship between two cities will be told by Tanja Bošković.
This year’s Guitar Art Fest brings, say the organizers, the spirit of classics in its broadest sense – through the sound of the guitar, but also through art, culture, fashion, the urban pulse of the city. Tradition will be intertwined with contemporary expression, and the classic will get a new, exciting face.
The motto of the Belgrade festival is Classic – Kao stav. As aesthetics. As the way we choose to live, create and enjoy. Programs with top artists will be realized in several locations, but united by the idea of celebrating the guitar as a symbol of timeless style, freedom of expression and artistic courage, but also meetings and friendships.
Thus, Guitar Art will rebuild the most beautiful, invisible bridge of sound, emotions and inspiration, through which Belgrade and Herceg Novi continue to exchange good energy and creative stories.
It is then justified to accept the message of the organizers “the festival will not be just an event, but a living classic”.
