MOUNTAINEERING CIRCULAR TOUR ACROSS THE HIGHEST PEAK OF THE COASTAL DINARIDS, VELIKI KABAO

A hiking circular tour over the highest peak of the coastal Dinarides, Veliki Kabao (1894 m) will be organized on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Departure from Vrbanje through Poduge ascent to Buganja greda, along the ridge to the top of Orjen (Veliki kabao), then descent to Orjenska lokva (1600 m) and further along the path to Trešnja back to Vrbanj. The tour is demanding, more difficult mountaineering, so you need better fitness and safety when moving on exposed sides.
It is 18 km long, with an ascent of nearly 900 m, and the expected duration of about 8-9 hours, including breaks.
Requirements: adequate hiking shoes for all-day movement, a large rucksack with spare goods, food, water, a headlamp and a mobile phone. Backpack lunch. A longer break is planned at Orjenska lokva.
Participation is at your own risk, free for club members, €5 for others
In case of bad weather, the tour is postponed.
Meeting place: Vrbanj near the first tavern, near which we leave the car. Meeting at 7 am. Transportation under own direction.
