EXHIBITION AND PROMOTION OF THE BOOK "MY LIFE" BY MAGA MAGAZINOVIĆ

The exhibition and promotion of the book “My Life” by Maga Magazinović, author Jelena Šantić, will be held tonight (Friday, September 19) in the garden of the Mirko Komnenović Museum, at 7 p.m. The organizer is Ju City Library and Reading Room Herceg Novi.

The book “My Life” was edited by Jelena Šantić, ballet artist, dance historian and peace activist, who recognized in Maja the forerunner of everything that the modern movement carries today: freedom of expression, integrity of form and social involvement. Unfortunately, Šantić did not wait for the book to be published. Marija Janković completed the editorial and research work, giving this manuscript a form that simultaneously respects its fragmentary nature and illuminates its depth.

Photographic material, archival contributions and a selection of texts accompanying the autobiographical notes make this book not only a literary, but also a documentary undertaking, important for the history of art, pedagogy, feminism and the modernization of society. In particular, it should be emphasized that the book is also a proof of women’s struggle: not only because of its content, but also because of its genesis, dedication and female solidarity between the three authors: Maga, Jelena and Maria.

Marija Janković, poet, writer and translator Jelena Kajgo and editor-in-chief and director of the publishing house “Clio” Zoran Hamović will speak at the opening of the exhibition and book promotion, and the moderator of the evening will be Ksenija Rakočević.
