The nineteenth consecutive international Guitar Art Summer Fest will be held from August 1 to 6 at several locations in the Old Town of Herceg Novi. During six concert nights, the audience will have the opportunity to attend seven concerts of pop, flamenco, ethnic and classical music,
Herceg Novi becomes the host of one of the most inspiring cultural events of the summer – Guitar Art Summer Fest – “Fiesta”, where passion, art and the Mediterranean spirit will come together under a clear sky.
The festival will be opened on August 1 at Kanli Tower by the biggest Spanish diva Luz Casal, who is coming to Montenegro for the first time. The second night of the festival is reserved for the Vientos del Eresma flamenco spectacle, which brings together the best of the Spanish regions of Andalusia and Castile. The best tambourine player in the world Branko Bako Jovanović and his ensemble will perform at the Music Square on August 3 – this is a concert that turns tradition into avant-garde.
The musical fiesta continues on August 4 with the performance of the French group Le souffle des Balkans – four musicians from Paris who perform the music of the Balkans in a unique and unrepeatable way. On the fifth day of the festival, the Diachroniko ensemble from Greece will perform. The audience will have the opportunity to hear the combination of two guitars, bouzouki, violin, percussion and voice.
Traditionally, the last night and grand closing of the festival is reserved for classical music. In the first part of the concert evening, the participants of the Guitar Integrations 6 project will perform – the best Montenegrin pupils, students and young guitar teachers. The second part of the evening is reserved for the performance of Zoran Dukić, a classical guitar virtuoso.
In addition to the concert program, during the Festival, from August 1st to August 6th, the Sue Ryder gallery will traditionally host the Guitar Visual Art exhibition, which will present the works of photographers El Gjojos and Duško Vukić.
The educational aspect of the Festival will take place every day at the Herceg Novi Music School, through master workshops that will be given to the best Montenegrin students by Zoran Dukić, Despina Arvantiridis and Hristos Vernados.
